The girls and boys Feile teams were invited to play an Exhibition Game during the St. Patrick's Festival in Dublin, Contra Costa. A total of 30 players, coaches and several parents made the trip on March 19th. Everybody had an enjoyable time, it was a great bonding opportunity for all concerned as the teams get ready for Feile 2017 in June.
A sincere “Thank You” for making last night a memorable occasion for our kids and the San Francisco Youth GAA. I appreciate that it was an anxious commute for several of you, however, I’m sure that the stress level was short-lived once you saw how much the kids enjoyed the experience and being with their friends. I also want to recognize the respectful and courteous behavior of our kids during the pre-game activities. The Warriors Organization and the SFYGAA chaperones where very appreciative of this.
Thanks to everybody that turned out for our first Feile Football practice. We had a great turnout and the coaches are very excited about developing our kids' skills and knowledge of the game over the next several months. It's very evident that the team has great potential.
The players were introduced to the new member of the Coaching Team, Graham Bourke. Graham is originally from County Laois, Ireland and has lived in the Bay Area for the past 3 years. Graham spent 11 years in Chicago before moving West and we feel very fortunate to have him on-board.
